Hindrances to Use and Prepare the Lesson Plan of Secondary School Teachers in Bangladesh and Some Recommendations

Abstract


Effective lesson planning is the soul of effective teaching. For achieving quality education, an effective lesson plan is the must. The main purpose of this study was to investigate the hindrances of using and preparing the lesson plan and to determine the next step of action why the teachers of secondary level in Bangladesh do not use lesson plan in their teaching. In this study, one questionnaire was used to collect primary data from the teachers of secondary level in Bangladesh to show an exact picture of preparing and using of lesson plan in their teaching. The study indicates that all the teachers are agreed to prepare lesson plan but a remarkable number of teachers do not prepare lesson plan for more classes per day and some of the teachers reveal if they use lesson plan in classes, they will not complete syllabus in time. Based on research findings, some recommendations have also been included in the paper to face those hindrances for achieving a fruitful education.
